His Broken Heart Heals Our Hurts

I can't understand it. I honestly cannnot. Why did Jesus die on the cross? Oh, I know, I know. I have heard the official answers. "To gratify the old law." "To fulfill prophecy." And these answers are right. But there is something more here. Something very compassionate. Something yearning. Something personal. What is it?
Could it be that His heart was broken for all the people who cast despairing eyes toward the dark heavens and cry the same "WHY!"? Could it be that His heart was broken for the hurting?
I imagine Him bending close to those that hurt. I imagine Him listening. I picture His eyes misting and a pierced hand brushing away a tear....He who wa alone...understands.
The greek word for compassion is splanchnizomai, which won't mean anything to you unless you studied it in the health profession. If so, you remember that "splanchnology" is the study of the gut. When Matthew writes that Jesus has compassion on the people, he is not saying that Jesus felt casual pity for them. No, the term is far more graphic. Matthew is saying that Jesus felt their hurt in His gut:
He felt the limp of the cripled.
He felt the hurt of the diseased.
He felt the lonliness of the leper.
He felt the embarrassment of the sinful.
And once He felt their hurts, He couldn't help but heal their hurts.
Tha is why the cross had to happen....
    There was no other way.

    God is able

If God is able to place the stars in thier sockets and suspend the sky like a curtain, do you think itis remotely possible that God is able to guide your life? If your God is mighty enough to ignite the sun, could it be that He is mighty enought to light your path? If He cares enough about the planet Saturn to give it rings or Venus to make it sparkle, is the an outside chance that He cares enough for you to meet your needs?
"And God can give you more blessings than you need. Then you will always have plenty of everything-enough to give to every good work."
    2 Corinthians 9:8

God calls for yout o lay down your cares

He is waiting for you. God is standing on the porch of Heaven, expectantly hoping, searching the horizon for a glimpse of His child. You are the one God is seeking. God is the waiting Father, the caring Shepard in search of His lamb. His legs are scratched, His feet are sore, and His eyes are burning. He scales the cliffs and traverses the fields. He explores the caves. He cups His hands to His mouth and calls into the canyon. And the name He calls is yours.....
The message is simple: God gave up His son in order to rescue all His sons and daughters. To bring His children home.
Maybe the heaviest burden we try to carry that stops us from answering is the burden of mistakes and failures. What do you do with your failures? Even if you have fallen, even if you have failed, even if everyone else has rejected you, Christ will not turn away from you. He came first and foremost to those who have no hope. He goes to those no one else would go to and says, " I will give you eternity." Only you can surrender your concerns to the Father. No one else can take those away and give them to God. Only you can cast all your anxieties on The One who cares for you.....
He is listening for your answer.

    The Compassionate Christ

When Jesus lands on the shore of Bethsaida, He elaves the Sea of Galilee and steps into a sea of humanity. Keep in mind, He has crossed the sea to get away from the crowds. He needs to grieve. He longs to relax with His disciples. He needs anything but another crowd of thousands to reach and heal. But His love for people overcomes His need for rest....
Many of those He healed would never say "thank you", but He healed them anyway. Most would be more concerned with being healthy than being holy, but He healed them anyway. Some of those that who asked for bread today would cry for His blood a few months later, but He helaed them anyways. He had compassion on them.

    God Favirute Word

God is an inviting God. He invited Mary to birth His son, the disciples to fish for men, the adulterous woman to start over, and Thomas to touch His wounds. God is the King who preapres the palace, sets the table and invites His subjects to come in.
In fact, it seems His favorite word is "Come". "Come let us talk about these things. Though your sins be as scarlet, they can be white as snow."
"All you who are thirsty, come and drink."
"Come to Me all, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest."
God is a God who invites. God is a God who calls.

    GODS UNFAILING LOVE

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you and approved of you, as My chosen instrument, and before you were born, I seperated you and set you apart, consecrating you; and I appointed you a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5 Amplified

"The Lord appeared from of old to me, saying, 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you." Jeremiah 31:3

An amazing fact illustrated throughout God's Word, is how much He loves us. God knows us the way we will be, the way we will be acting, the way we will think...before we are even born. Although possessing this foreknowledge, He declares openly of His unfailing love for us. What a contrast with man, who claims to have unfailing love, and fails to even be faithful, if not through deeds, then through impure thoughts. We are the ones who broke our relationship with God by pursuing a life independant from Him. He is the One who takes the initiative to reach out to us and repair our broken relationship with Him. God loved us so much that He was willing to die for us so that we could be reconciled and have fellowship with Him! What an amazing love! The King of the universe willing to die for His creation to save it for eternity! Jesus would have died just for you! Your friendship is important to Him! His hunger for your fellowship is uncomparable! HE LOVES YOU!

    " THE SINGLE TEAR"
There was just one...it dropped out of the corner of my eye, and before I could reach up to wipe it away, it had already coursed down my cheeck. Where had it come from, this single tear? As I had reflected on the scriptures a few more minutes: "Chosen by God"...."Holy"...."Beloved"...."The apple of His eye"....What did this mean in practical terms? How did this status of "Beloved" by God really manifest itself in everyday life? That's when I felt the warm, wet stream course down my right cheeck. Then He spoke: " I shed that tear," He said, "The thought that our time together will soon end brought tears to my eyes, and one of them dropped on your cheeck." "Oh Lord!" I cried, "You have enjoyed this time together as much as I have! But....How...." Suddenly the full meaning of this verse struck me: I am God's beloved. He desires to spend time with ME, to commune with ME, to have a relationship and friendship with ME! "Oh Lord!", I repeated, "why can't we do this more often?" He didn't answer. He didn't need to. I already knew.
HE was always there. It was me who was too busy, too tired, too insecure. It was my adamant belief that the God of the universe didn't have time to spend with me; my poor self image, my feelings of unworthiness, the lies from the enemy shouted that I was not important to God. His response was clear: "That's  exactly what I died for!"

" No one is able to come to Me unless the Father who sent Me attracts and draws him and gives him the desire to come to Me, and then I will raise him up from the dead at the last day." And He said, " This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him, unless he is able to do so by the Father." John  6:44,65

" Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears, listens to, and heeds my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he will eat with Me."
    Revelation 3:20

    Family Time

" Blessed is the man whose quiver is full." - GOD
In other words, children are a blessing from God and the more He gives you, the more blessed you may be considered. Together, my husband and I have 5. If you count the number of kids that have in the past, and continue to gather at our home and go out on family outins as part of our family, at times it may have been innumerable! Raising children, in my opinion, is the most important responsibility one could do with your life. It is also the most heart wrenching and rewarding experience of a lifetime. Our children are 3 boys, two girls, in the ages of 13,14,15,19 and 21. What an awesome time in thierlives, and what a challenge to some times get them through! We are also currently being certified as foster parents for a disabled teen girl,  yet to be named or made known to us, but known by God from the beginning of time! We were so blessed to provide a home and family for a 17 year old girl for 2 years who had cerebral palsy and mental retardation. I would have never thought myself capable of caring for someone of that nature, although my work history is adult hospice personal, one on one, in home care. But we were so blessed to have known this young lady, and be a part of her life, it has opened up an area in our hearts to continue this venture. God also tells us to " take care of the orphans and widows."
For the last 17 or so years, we have had a family tradition to go to "Spring Fling" every year just before spring break. A carnival/fair type of attraction that comes to town once a yr. Tonight was our night. It is so much fun for me to spend this time with the kids, riding every ride, even at my age.....except for the feris wheel, which would leave me in tears if it ried to ride. Which makes no sense because i can ride every other ride, including the "mega drop" which slowly goes up 10 stories to free fall at 70 mph, at an unexpected time in 3 seconds! This has got to be good for staying young! As I will turn 40 this summer! WOW! 40 !
Ok on with it...the time we spend here at this fling, is not something that i would exchange for anything in the world. It is a time of looking fear in the face, deep belly laughs as a result of that fear, and bonding time that is priceless with our children! I love them all so much. I don't think that there are adequate words in any language that would express or explain this feeling. They love you unconditionally, through good and bad, trial and error and everything in between. There is no difference in my kids and his kids regarding the love that I feel. If you have read any of my blog comments, one of them is from Katie...my husbands daughter. It brought tears to my eyes as she openly expressed her love and acceptance of me as part of her family. We have only been married for a year and a half now. We have been so blessed....our quiver is full and growing....and I am so thankful that God saw me worthy enough for the job! If any of the kids read this.......I LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!

    Gods Word

I am waiting for the throngs of people to flock to my site....lol...and it hasn't happened yet...BUT I am believing that it will. SO.......if you just happen to stop by and check things out, please leave me a message so I know you have been here. OK? OK! Now on to more important things. In my church, 4 years ago, we opened a Ministry Home for Women called the Hospitality House of Tucson, in Arizona. We believe that God direected us to do this to provide a place where women who were hurting, addicted, in jail or prison, victoms of abuse, physical, emotional, sexual, in despair, abandoned by family and friends, on the street...it didn't matter where they came from, the only thing that matters is that they are done with living life as they know it, in the midst of the muck and mire, and have a desire to come to know the healing power and salvation of Jesus Christ. Thats the only criteria...you have to want to know God! He is the ONLY ONE that can heal, deliver and save. And He doesnt care what you look like when you come to Him, beat up, worn out, bruised, tattered and torn. All He cares about is that you come. I have been the Director of the Home since we opened it. Part of my responsibilities is to counsel and teach the women from the Word of God, the Bible. Which we believe is HIS perfect and infallable personal word. I have been away from the duties of the home for about 5 weeks because of my own physical illness and was back tonight for a Bible study since then. I was so saddened to see the lack of desire for Gods Word, and the complacency in the hearts of some of the women that has "moved in". And you know what? God takes it personally when we take Him for granted, and don't put Him first. He says He is jealous for us, and warns us to not have anything before Him. When we allow the business of the day, and whatever else comes in and distracts us to take us away from our first love...God...then we become a moving target for the enemy....satan...to come and kill, steal and destroy what God is building in us. We have to have a desire to know Gods word....that is how we come to KNOW HIM...that is how we learn of all HIS promises for our lives as HIS children, and hoa much HE desires to bless us. It is all there in THE BOOK. There are no secrets for those who have adesire to know. HE says, "ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened for you." That is where the power comes from to live here on this earth, in the midst of evil, knowing GOD has promised us a life in Heaven with HIM for eternity...if we follow HIM. If you are reading this and you don't know GOD I encourage you to look for HIM. If you are reading this and you once walked with GOD but have walked away, I encourage you to come home to HIM. HE promises to through a huge party for you, and clothe you with the best garments, and give you HIS signet ring...just for comming back...no questions asked. If you are reading this and you are submitted to GOD and walking daily with HIM I encoirage you to pray for those who are weak, and speak to those who are hurting...they deserve an ooportunity to hear the Gospel and make a concious decision to follow HIM WHO SAVES.
